Form watch for GW38: hot picks and fading assets

Top 5 form risers, buy candidates

Ollie Watkins is the standout GW38 buy. The Aston Villa forward is sitting on a huge 9.5 form at £8.7m, yet is still only 13.0% owned. That combination of output and moderate ownership makes him a high-upside final-day move, especially for managers chasing rank.

Bruno Fernandes looks like the premium midfielder with the best recent trend. His 7.8 form is comfortably among the strongest in the game, and while 48.0% selection means he is hardly a differential, it also tells you the market is respecting the data. At £10.4m, he is expensive, but the floor looks strong going into GW38.

Marcos Senesi deserves serious attention in defence. Bournemouth have two names in the risers list and Senesi leads them with a 7.0 form at £5.2m, owned by 22.0%. If you want a defender in form without paying elite prices, he is one of the clearest picks.

E. Le Fée is the budget punt of the week. At just £4.8m, with a 7.0 form and only 1.6% ownership, he is exactly the kind of final-day differential that can swing mini-leagues. The sample is strong enough to put him on the radar for anyone needing a low-cost upside play.

Elliot Anderson rounds out the top five. The Nottingham Forest midfielder has a 6.8 form, costs £5.7m, and is owned by just 9.4%. He is not as explosive a name as Watkins or Bruno, but the recent numbers absolutely justify consideration.

Top 5 form fallers, sell candidates

Daniel Muñoz is the first name to move on. A 2.0 form at £5.9m is poor enough, but when paired with 9.2% ownership, it means plenty of managers are still carrying a player who is not delivering.

Mohammed Kudus is an even clearer sell. The Tottenham midfielder has crashed to a brutal 0.0 form at £6.4m, while still being in 9.1% of squads. In a one-week horizon, there is little case for patience.

Dean Henderson also looks expendable. A goalkeeper with 1.4 form, priced at £5.1m and owned by 9.0%, is difficult to justify when there are stronger defensive trends elsewhere.

Tijjani Reijnders has slipped badly too. At £5.0m he is affordable, but a 1.2 form with 8.9% ownership is not what you want from a final-gameweek midfielder slot.

Trevoh Chalobah completes the sell list. His 0.8 form is among the weakest of all owned assets, and at £5.4m with 8.8% selection, he is an easy downgrade or sideways move.

Fade or hold dilemmas

Gabriel is the classic hold rather than chase. A 6.0 form is solid, but at £7.3m and a huge 45.4% ownership, he is more of a shield than a sword. Good if protecting rank, less exciting if you need to make up ground.

Jeremy Doku sits in the opposite category. His 6.0 form, £6.5m price and 6.6% ownership make him a tempting punt, but he still feels like a volatile one. If you are chasing, the upside is obvious. If you are ahead, there are safer ways to play GW38.
