Transfer targets for GW36: ins and outs

Top transfer ins

1. Erling Haaland

Haaland is the standout buy for GW36. Manchester City are at home to Crystal Palace and he leads this list with an enormous 15.01 xP, comfortably clear of every other option. Add in 63.0% ownership and this is both an upside move and a shield pick if you do not already own him. His recent 5.5 form is solid rather than explosive, but the fixture and projection do the heavy lifting here. If you have the route, this is the premium move to prioritise.

2. Marc Guéhi

Guéhi looks one of the best-value defensive buys despite the odd listing here. At £5.1m, with 9.36 xP and 6.8 form, he offers a strong blend of security and recent output. His 32.7% selection also suggests the market is already moving. For managers wanting a defender with both playable GW36 prospects and less budget strain than the premium attackers, Guéhi stands out.

3. O’Reilly

O’Reilly is another excellent City-linked defensive target. He comes in at £5.2m, has 9.04 xP, and brings the best recent form of the defenders listed at 7.0. Ownership is still manageable at 18.9%, which makes him a useful pick for managers wanting exposure to a strong fixture without following the most obvious defensive template. If you are buying in defence this week, he belongs near the top of the shortlist.

Cherki also deserves a mention. At £6.6m with 7.55 xP and 7.0 form, he is a credible midfield alternative if you cannot stretch to Haaland or want a more balanced two-transfer plan.

Top transfer outs

1. Trevoh Chalobah

Chalobah is an easy sell. His recent 0.8 form is one of the weakest in this group, and at 9.2% ownership there is enough dead weight here to justify moving early. At £5.4m, he is also not cheap enough to excuse poor returns.

2. Mohammed Kudus

Kudus has bottomed out on recent output with a brutal 0.0 form. When a mid-priced midfielder at £6.4m is offering nothing and still sits at 9.2% ownership, that is usually a clear exit point. There are simply better uses of this budget in GW36.

3. Ezri Konsa

Konsa edges onto the sell list ahead of Cash because the recent numbers are worse. His 0.8 form offers little encouragement, and 7.6% ownership means many squads can improve here without much pain. Even though he is only £4.4m, cheap defenders still need a path to points.

Cash is not far behind. His 2.2 form is better than Konsa’s, but still not enough to make him a hold if you are actively looking for a defensive upgrade.

Recommended swap pairs

  • Chalobah to Guéhi. This is the cleanest defender upgrade on the board. You move from 0.8 form to 6.8 form, while also gaining a huge projected boost through 9.36 xP.
  • Kudus to Cherki. Same general price bracket, but the contrast is stark. Kudus has 0.0 form, while Cherki arrives with 7.0 form and 7.55 xP. That is the kind of midfield switch that can swing a gameweek.

If you can fund it, the most aggressive move remains finding a way to get Haaland. He is the headline buy for GW36 by a distance.
