What matters this week
- Squad depth at the position: teams like Arsenal and Chelsea show attacking players stacked closely together (Eze, Tzolis, Madueke at Arsenal; Rogers, Neto, Estêvão at Chelsea), which signals genuine competition for the same minutes.
- Goalkeeper and defensive rotation: Brentford (Thiago vs Kelleher), Villa (Alysson vs Suzuki), and Brighton’s defensive names (Andrés, Ayari, Svoboda, Gomez, Struijk, Vuskovic, Osman) all show more names than starting slots, a red flag for nailed status.
- New or fringe names in the top 11: Brighton’s Kostoulas and Everton’s Dibling and Hackney sit right at the edge of the predicted XI, meaning their inclusion is a call, not a certainty.
How to weigh it
When a club’s predicted XI has two or three players occupying similar attacking zones (as with Chelsea’s front players or Arsenal’s midfield-attack group), price and fixture matter less than raw rotation risk, since even a “starter” tag doesn’t guarantee 90 minutes. Conversely, when a team’s top 11 has clear gaps between its first-choice names and the rest (Bournemouth and Fulham both show fairly distinct roles per player), you can trust the listed starter more and focus on fixture and price instead.
Arsenal
Saka, Gabriel, Havertz, Rice, Gyökeres, Bruno G. and Ødegaard look like the stable core. Eze, Tzolis and Madueke are competing for the remaining attacking minutes, so treat that trio as rotation risks rather than automatic starters.
Chelsea
Palmer, João Pedro and Rogers project as the most secure attacking picks. Neto, Estêvão, Gittens and Barco are all listed in the same band, which spreads risk across four names rather than confirming any one of them.
Brighton
David, Groß and O’Riley look like the primary picks. Kostoulas sits just inside the top 11, alongside a crowded defensive group (Andrés, Ayari, Svoboda, Gomez, Struijk, Vuskovic, Osman), so defensive returns here are harder to call than the attacking ones.
Brentford
