- Form over reputation: Tarkowski’s 7.2 form and João Pedro’s 8.2 form outstrip several pricier names, and both still return strong xP (4.67 and 6.56) despite modest selection percentages of 12.0% and 74.2% respectively.

How to weigh it
xP should lead your decision, but only after you’ve checked it against form and fixture. A high xP with cold form, like a player without a home fixture backing it, is a shakier bet than a slightly lower xP with 6.0+ form and a favourable matchup. Price then decides who you can actually afford, so if the full-strength XI above busts your budget, trim from mid-priced defence or your bench GK before you touch the four premium attackers, since Haaland, Palmer, Saka and João Pedro carry the most proven output per data point here.
