Price changes are a signal of ownership momentum, not a verdict on quality. Here is how to read this week’s movers before you commit transfers.
What matters this week
- Transfer volume dwarfs the price tags. Groß has moved just £0.1m but pulled in 340,618 net transfers, and Rogers has added 427,141 while rising the same £0.1m. The scale of the herd matters more than the size of the tick.
- Ownership context changes the calculation. Rogers already sits at 38.3% selected and João Pedro at 74.5%, so their rises confirm a trend rather than reveal a new one. De Cuyper (24.1%) and Gvardiol (24.0%) are climbing from a similar base.
- Fallers are mostly low-owned already. Hughes (8.0%), Cash (5.2%), Senesi (3.9%), Igor Jesus (2.6%) and Roefs (2.6%) are shedding value, but none carry heavy ownership, so the cost of ignoring them is small for most squads.
How to weigh it
Treat net transfers as the leading indicator and the £0.1m change as the lagging confirmation. If a riser’s transfer count is still climbing fast, such as Schade’s 252,670 or Belloumi’s 231,585, there is time to jump on before the next tick. If a faller’s transfer count is small relative to its ownership, like Mukiele’s 14,728 out of 2.0% selected, there is no urgency to sell. The size of the squad-value hit from holding a faller is usually smaller than the price you would pay chasing a riser after it has already ticked.

Squad value implications
Selling a faller like Cash or Senesi now locks in whatever value remains before further drops, but with ownership under 6% for both, the squad value swing is marginal for most teams. Holding risers such as João Pedro (£7.8m, 74.5% owned) or Havertz (£7.6m) protects value already banked. The bigger lever is jumping on a riser early, Belloumi and Tavernier are both mid-rise with strong inflow (231,585 and 184,405 respectively) and could tick again before the deadline.
